Bahrain: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of<\/span><\/span> 616<\/span><\/span> inspection<\/span><\/span>campaigns and visits, during the <\/span><\/span>period<\/span><\/span> of <\/span><\/span>30 June<\/span><\/span> to <\/span><\/span>6<\/span><\/span>July<\/span><\/span> 2024<\/span><\/span>, which resulted in the detention of <\/span><\/span>50<\/span><\/span> violating and irregular workers<\/span><\/span>, while <\/span><\/span>118<\/span><\/span> violators were deported.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring a number of violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market <\/span><\/span>Regulatory Authority <\/span><\/span>and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The authority <\/span><\/span>pointed out <\/span><\/span>that <\/span><\/span>600<\/span><\/span> inspection visits were carried out on various shops in all governorates, in addition to <\/span><\/span>16<\/span><\/span> joint<\/span><\/span> inspection<\/span><\/span> campaigns, that included<\/span><\/span>11<\/span><\/span> campaigns in the Capital Governorate; <\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span> campaign<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span> in <\/span><\/span>the <\/span><\/span>Muharraq Governorate<\/span><\/span>; <\/span><\/span>1<\/span><\/span> campaign in the <\/span><\/span>Northern<\/span><\/span>Governorate<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span>2<\/span><\/span> campaign<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span> in the <\/span><\/span>Southern Governorate<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The government entities that participated in the campaigns are<\/span><\/span> the<\/span><\/span> Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA)<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span>the Governorate\u2019s respective Police Directorate<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>t<\/span><\/span>he <\/span><\/span>General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Authority affirmed the continuation of joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns in all governorates of the Kingdom, and to address any violations or practices that negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the <\/span><\/span>labour<\/span><\/span>market or harm economic and social security of the Kingdom.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal <\/span><\/span>labour<\/span><\/span>practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority\u2019s website <\/span><\/span>www.lmra.gov.bh<\/span><\/span><\/a> or by calling the authority’s call <\/span><\/span>centre<\/span><\/span> on 17506055 or via the government\u2019s Suggestions and Complaints System (<\/span><\/span>Tawasul<\/span><\/span>).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
