{"id":2053,"date":"2025-01-11T20:43:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-11T17:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flashseven.com\/english\/?p=2053"},"modified":"2025-01-11T20:45:54","modified_gmt":"2025-01-11T17:45:54","slug":"harris-cancels-final-bahrain-trip-because-of-california-wildfires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flashseven.com\/english\/?p=2053","title":{"rendered":"Harris cancels final Bahrain trip because of California wildfires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vice President <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\">Kamala Harris <\/span>is canceling the final foreign trip of her term because of the wildfires in her home state of California, her office announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Her decision follows a similar one made by President <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\">Joe Biden<\/span>, who was due to travel this week to Rome to visit Pope Francis and meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy but <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\">instead stayed in Washington.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"optimizelyHubpeekId\" class=\"optimizelyHubpeekClass\"><\/div>\n<p>Harris had planned to visit <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\">Singapore, Bahrain and Germany<\/span> from Jan. 13 to 17. The itinerary suggested she wanted to continue playing a global role even after losing the presidential election to Donald Trump, who takes office on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters have been struggling to get a handle on <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\">several blazes<\/span> in the Los Angeles area.<\/p>\n<p>At a White House meeting with Biden on Thursday, Harris said wildfires will continue to be a year-round threat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter what month of the year,\u201d she said. \u201cWe should be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harris\u2019 own home, in the Brentwood neighborhood, is located in an evacuation zone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vice President Kamala Harris is canceling the final foreign trip of her term because of the wildfires in her home state of California, her office announced on Thursday.
