The Indian School Celebrates Vishwa Hindi Diwas

Manama: The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) joyously celebrated Vishwa Hindi Diwas through a series of vibrant programmes at the Jashanmal auditorium on Thursday, January 9, 2025. ISB  Hon.Asst.Secretary & Hon. Member-Academics  Ranjini Mohan  inaugurated  the festivities by lighting the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Principal VR  Palaniswamy, Senior School & Academic Administration Vice-Principal  G Satheesh, Middle Section Vice-Principal Jose Thomas,Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas,Head Teachers, Heads of Departments, and other esteemed guests.
The programme, orchestrated by the Hindi Department, commenced with the national anthems of Bahrain and India, followed by the school prayer. Grade 8 student Shahid Qamar recited verses from the Holy Qur’an.  Janki Sajikumar extended a warm welcome to the gathering, marking the grand finale of the celebrations conducted in two phases. The first phase featured inter-school competitions held in December, engaging various CBSE schools, including The New Millennium School, The Asian School, The New Indian School, Bahrain Indian School, New Horizon School, and Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School. Apart from these competitions, the programme featured a diverse array of patriotic songs, value-based songs, and folk dances. First prize winners in categories such as Hindi Poem Recitation, Hindi Doha Recitation, and Hindi Solo Song showcased their talents.

HoD Baboo Khan announced the names of winners who were presented with trophies and certificates by  Hon.Asst.Secretary & Hon. Member-Academics  Ranjini Mohan. She extended her congratulations to the winners of the celebrations and  emphasized the role of Hindi as a unifying language in India. The organizing committee members headed by Baboo Khan coordinated the programme. Ishan Mistry delivered the vote of thanks.
The organizing team   included   Srilata Nair, Kahkashan Khan, Mahanaz Khan, Mala Singh, Shabreen Sulthana, Sheema Attukandathil, Sayali Amod Kelkar,   Sreekala Suresh, Nanditha Devu Sunil,Smita Helwatkar,Girija MK, Yogeeta Srivastava, Ganga Kumari, Simarjit Kaur, Viji Vijoy, Nita Pradeep and Joolie Vivek.Students Janki Sajikumar, Aiza Mariam, Ayesha Khan, Khadeeja Subhani, Ishan Mistry, Arjun K Binil, Zoya Shaikh, Deepshikha Kishore, Insia Rizvi, Asra Rashid, Shreya Mathur, Prakrithi G Shetty and Devika Bineesh were the masters of ceremonies.ISB Hon.Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon.Secretary V Rajapandian, Executive Committee Members and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the winners and appreciated the teachers for their enthusiastic participation which made the programme a success.

  • Hindi Handwriting Competition (Class IV): 1.Beryl Mahilvetharaj Jerusha-The Asian School,2.Serah Soni-The New Horizon School,  Jewel Susan Abraham-The Indian School Bahrain,3. Prathiksha Murali-The Asian School, Ameya Suresh-New Millennium School.
  • Hindi Poem Recitation (Class V):1.Mihika Amitkumar Bamanya-The Indian School Bahrain,2.Sharon Aiman-Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School,3.Sahilkumar Mistry- Bahrain Indian School,Shirsh Yadu-The New Indian School.
  • Hindi Storytelling Competition (Class VI):1.Chandra Khyathi,-Bahrain Indian School,2. Akshat Suresh Kumar-New Millennium School,3.Uday Pratap Singh-The Asian School.
  • Hindi Speech Competition (Class VII): 1.Deepanshi Gopal-The Indian School Bahrain,2. Aditya Mishra-Bahrain Indian School,3.Aaditi Saxena-The Asian School.
  • Hindi Doha Vachan Competition (Class VIII):1. Shashankit Rupesh Iyer-The Indian School Bahrain,2.Kenisha Gupta-Bahrain Indian School,3.Debabrato Biswas-The New Indian School.
  • Hindi Solo Song Competition (Class IX): 1.Tanvi M Nambiar-The Asian School,2.Shreya Muralidharan-The Indian School Bahrain,3.Shaik Mehajabeen-Ibn Al Hytham Islamic School,Rajneer Singh Sethi-New Millennium School.
  • Hindi Vigyapan Making Competition (Class X):1.Gopikha Bharathi Rajan-The Asian School,2.Vedika Sudheer-The Asian School,3.Nidhi Nair,-The Indian School Bahrain,Manisha Sandhu-The Indian School Bahrain.
