Manama, Bahrain – January 22, 2025: The Pravasi Legal Cell (PLC) Bahrain Chapter, under the dynamic leadership of Sudheer Thirunilath, Global PRO & President of PLC, has successfully facilitated the repatriation of Mr. Mani Prasad Adkadkam, a 42-year-old Indian national who was in a critical medical and social condition in Bahrain. This monumental effort was achieved with the legal expertise of Advocate Tariq Alown, leading to the lifting of three travel bans and enabling Mr. Mani Prasad to return to India for life-saving medical treatment.
Hailing from Kasargod, Kerala, Mr. Mani Prasad has been battling severe health complications, including Decompensated Congestive Cardiac Failure, Renal Impairment, and Acute Gout. His deteriorating condition required recurrent hospitalizations at Salmaniya Medical Complex and KIMSHealth Hospital in Bahrain. Most recently, he faced severe decompensated heart failure and a spreading leg infection, with doctors indicating a possible leg amputation and advanced treatments, such as a Cardiac Transplant or Biventricular Assist Device (BiVAD), which are only available in India.
Despite his dire medical state, Mr. Mani Prasad faced additional challenges due to legal and financial constraints, including a travel ban related to a recovery case in Kerala. PLC’s persistent efforts, including three court hearings in November 2024, and negotiations with the plaintiff, eventually led to the lifting of the travel ban. Advocate Tariq Alown’s legal acumen, coupled with PLC’s negotiations, played a pivotal role in resolving the matter compassionately.
This humanitarian mission was made possible through the collective efforts of several individuals and organizations:

Today, Mr. Mani Prasad departed from Bahrain to Kannur on an Air India Express flight. Upon arrival, a NORKA ambulance facilitated his immediate transfer to a hospital in Kerala for advanced treatment.
This extraordinary effort exemplifies the power of collaboration in addressing the challenges faced by expatriates in distress. The PLC Bahrain Chapter extends its heartfelt gratitude to the judiciary, the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, and all the individuals and organizations who united to support this noble cause.
