Indian Judo champion Suchika Tariyal showcased why she is called ‘The Ronda Rousey of India’ with a dominant second-round armbar submission win at BRAVE CF 92.
Suchika, an eight-time national judo champion and a Commonwealth and South Asian Medallist, displayed her grappling prowess to dominate her opponent, Jhen Buzon. The Indian fighter executed multiple takedowns throughout the fight, leaving Buzon with no opportunity to mount an effective offense.
Suchika, who is also a Jiu-Jitsu World champion, hunted for submissions from the first round and ultimately secured a belly-down armbar in the second round, forcing Buzon to tap.
The fight marked Suchika’s return to MMA after a seven-year hiatus, during which she competed in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. With the victory, she remains undefeated in her professional MMA career, improving her record to two wins and no losses.
Suchika also announced her entry into BRAVE Combat Federation in style and has quickly established herself as a contender to watch in the Strawweight division. The division had an eventful 2024, with the addition of rising stars like Suchika and former IMMAF medallist Songül Karatorak. It also featured a series of thrilling matchups, including the standout showdown between Monika Kučinič and Fabiola Pidroni, which is a strong contender for Fight of the Year.
With Suchika’s arrival, the race to crown the first-ever Female MMA Champion in BRAVE Combat Federation is heating up.
