Manama, Bahrain – January 15, 2025: The newly elected office bearers of the Kozhikode Jilla Pravasi Forum (KPF) met with His Excellency Mr. Vinod K. Jacob, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the Embassy of India today. The delegation included Mr. Sudheer Thirunilath (President), Mr. Arun Prakash (General Secretary), Mr. Jamal Kuttikkattil (Patron), Mr. Akhil Thamarassery (Vice President), Mr. Sudhi Chathoth (Sports Wing Convener), and Ms. Sajna Sanoop (Ladies Wing Convener). The meeting was also attended by Honorable Second Secretary, HOC, and CW Mr. Ravi Jain.
During the meeting, the KPF office bearers discussed a range of issues concerning the Indian expatriate community in Bahrain. Key topics included:
Gulf Air’s decision to discontinue flights to Kozhikode and Cochin: The delegation requested the Ambassador’s intervention in addressing this critical issue and submitted a formal representation.
Delays in police verification for passport renewal: Concerns about the prolonged verification process and its impact on the community were highlighted.
Labor issues: The forum raised concerns regarding challenges faced by expatriate workers and sought support in resolving them.
The KPF representatives also took the opportunity to brief His Excellency about the organization’s ongoing activities and initiatives to support the community. His Excellency Mr. Vinod K. Jacob expressed his appreciation for the efforts of KPF and assured the delegation of the Embassy’s continued support.
