Foreign Ministry announces successful evacuation of first group of Bahrainis from Syria

In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and under the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the successful evacuation of the first group of Bahraini citizens from Syria, ensuring their safe return to Bahrain.

The evacuation was facilitated through comprehensive arrangements and measures to guarantee a smooth and secure process.

The ministry emphasised that these efforts reflect the directives of His Majesty the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to prioritise the welfare and safety of Bahraini citizens abroad and to provide necessary support in all circumstances.

The ministry expressed its appreciation for the tireless efforts and continuous coordination by Bahrain’s diplomatic missions in Syria and Jordan.

It also highlighted the cooperation of Gulf Air and other involved parties in facilitating the citizens’ return, alongside the assistance provided by relevant authorities in Syria and Jordan, which contributed significantly to the success of the operation. The ministry affirmed its commitment to continuing to monitor the situation and ensuring the safe return of all remaining Bahraini citizens in Syria.

The ministry emphasised its commitment to protecting and supporting Bahraini citizens abroad.

It noted that its teams and diplomatic missions in Damascus and Amman worked diligently to provide all necessary support and ensure the safe and smooth return of citizens to Bahrain.
